Franklin Offshore Australia offers a wide range of high technology synthetic rope and synthetic fibre rope for the marine and offshore market.
As the leading Australian distributor for Bridon Ropes we can offer the full range of Bridon products to suit any application.
Compared to wire rope, synthetic rope offers benefits including:
- Reliable strength and performance
- Lightweight and flexible
- Reduced maintenance costs
- Longer service life
- Better bend fatigue
- Safer, easier handling
Bridon’s Steelite/Steelite Xtra (8 strand, 12 strand Roundline and Superline) is the ideal synthetic rope substitute for wire. Size-for-size it displays the same strength as wire rope and has the advantage of floating in water.
Steelite exhibits lower lash back energy than other synthetic fibres and unlike wire will not unravel dangerously. The lightweight properties of Steelite make handling easy, and reduce the risk of personal injury.
Typical applications include mooring, winch, tow, and tug assist lines, deep water lift lines, tethers and pipe pull lines.
Polypropylene
We also offer a range of high tenacity polypropylene synthetic rope which features a higher breaking strength, dimensional stability and economical price. They have been produced for various applications in fishing, shipping and heavy industry (materials handling)

- Higher breaking strength
- Abrasion resistance

- Better grip
- Minimal elongation
- Durable and ultraviolet stabilised (on request)
