What does Franklin Offshore Australia do?
We specialise in the supply and manufacture of rigging, lifting and mooring equipment for the mining, construction and offshore industries. We also provide services such as National Association of Testing Authorities Australia (NATA) accredited mechanical and non-destructive (NDT) testing, including certified visual inspections.
Where are you located?
Franklin Offshore Australia is based in Henderson, Western Australia with branches in Karratha and Darwin. We service local, national and international customers.
Can you supply, manufacture and carry out standards testing?
Yes. We manufacture and supply a wide range of rigging, lifting and mooring equipment as well as offering hire of lifting equipment. We carry out testing according to Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and Australian standards including NDT testing, inspections and re-certification.
What is NDT testing?
Non-destructive testing (NDT) is a quality assurance tool used to test materials, components and assemblies for flaws in their structure without damaging their future usefulness. We can carry out mechanical tests to 600kN and non-destructive testing (NDT) including magnetic particle inspection, liquid dye penetrant and visual inspection.
What is magnetic particle inspection?
Magnetic particle inspection is used for testing materials which can be easily magnetised. This method is capable of detecting open-to-surface and just-below-the-surface flaws.
